just for future references im going to be starting a nano tank soon (about 24 gal). can i safely keep a psychadelic mandarin in there or will it get too large?

comments appreciated

You need approx. 75 lbs live rock and a tank aged approx 6 months to a year, per mandarin. If you think you can fit it in there.

No need to make frowny smiles DrBDC, we don't want to scare him from the boards. ;) Now, sadly I don't think you could keep any Dragonet in there for very long. You see, a mandarin will stay small (4'' tops) but it feeds ONLY on small inverts that form in aged tanks. These are called copepods and you can see them under your substrate or on your rock occasionally. A mandarin could speed feast all the pods in your nano down its gullet in mere hours. There ARE rare occasions where a mandarin feeds on frozen foods, but I wouldn't cross my fingers. How about some other small fish, could I reccomend Neon or Clown Gobies?
