IME they are great tankmates. If the seahorses are eating mysis, I find (5 for 5) that the SHs eating Mysis creates an interest in the Mandarins to try. All 5 Mandarans have quickly turned onto frozen foods.

Interesting observation domboski.

The big issue for mandarins is getting them to eat prepared foods. If you can get them on to frozen or other prepared foods, they would be a great tank mate.

I have also heard of several people having success with formula 1 pellets.

I agree I just added a mandarin to my erectus tank, and after two weeks hes chowin down right along side the horses. It amazed me because Ive always heard how hard it is to train mandarins on prepared foods.
