I bought a pair of mandarin fish for my tank, The female mandarin
fish died the were suposed to have been a mated pair. Would it be possible to buy a female from the local pet store to add with the male that I have or would this cause a problem.
Thanks in advance.

How long were the two fish in there. How big is your tank and how long has it been set up. Also, do you have a refugium?
Lots of questions , I know. But need to be answered before your question can.

My tank is a 75 Gal, yes, there is plenty of pods in the tank with lost of rock work I have ordered pods for my tank and the population is more that enought to maintain two fish, the female fish died two days after shipment and was never really active when I got her. The store that I ordered her from did not give replacement on mated pairs. The other one is fine, proir to that I had a single one for almost three years and throught a pair would be better.

Ok. A 75g without a fuge is not big enough to sustain two mandarins. I'm not suggesting that is why you one died but it would not maintain two long term. I would just leave the one on there. I have a pair in a 180g with a fuge and I still don't think they get enough pods.

Agree with Matt. Your female that died was not healthy from the beginning and was acting as if it were caught with cyanide. But, in any case, your tank is not large enough for two.
