So the tank will be inset into the wall- thats what all the contruction in the finished garage/tank room is for. The tank will be 48x30x12" rimless so about 74 ish gallons. The bonsai you see on the left side will be my black mangrove that I've been growing since my first tank. It will be very modern as there will be little rock with one or two red mangrove growing to the right or left depending where the boomie will be. There will be a lot of negitive space in this and will be lit by all LED's

Thank you, ill be ordering the glass on Monday and I think the LEDs too if I can decide on what I want to do

I've had mangrove for a while now-black mangrove are about 3 years old I think and the red 1.5- I imagine they would be bigger since they kinda have not been in the ideal growing condition as of late.

Finally I'm on Christmas break(I love working at a university) I've been working non-stop doing home improvement things now I'm starting the tank work. Only thing is I seemed to have run into a problem. I had a contractor come out and looks at the wall and it's not load bearing at all, but theres a random electrical line running through the wall and I need to put a least 1 2x4 to support the header. It's not a big header but still I don't know where this cord goes. It has no slack either so I can't cut it and splice it back together in a gang box. Anyone have any ideas?

Giga do you have a thread showing your builds with pictures that work. I have looked through a few of the older ones but all I see is the forbidden one. I'm in the process of building a custom tank and I would love to see some of your pics and the things you learned while building ( particularly the errors/ mistakes so I can avoid them)

Giga, when you order your glass, do you have the bevel or just polish the edges? Do you have them do that to all edges, including the inner edges?

Sorry for super duper long update time but me and my wife are about to have our first baby and the due date is June 8th!!! So things have slowed down a bit but I have made progress and this project has changed a lot(for the better) and this is going to be the craziest tank ever! I'm not tell you the changes but your all in for a serious trip and i'll try and update each week minus when i'm in the hospital welcoming my daughter into the world:love2:

On with the pics
