Do you trim the roots to control their spread?

The mangrove in my overflow will eventually need to be trimmed or moved before it blocks the flow.

Nope, no trimming. They're in about 5" of substrate in a 55gal tank. Only 2 clowns and a few peppermint shrimp and a couple urchins. I figure Ill let them go until they get real big then take them out and order more and do it all over again!!

Interesting, I know of someone who has been trying to grow mangroves in a large system with no success. I wonder if there is not enough nutrients? possible over skim? thoughts?
