Mangrove tank

Yea most defninitely, youve came up with your own mucinex clean up system.

Haha. Im sorry, that was lame i know.

Do you test for that stuff,at all? I mean we kind of need those in our tanks as they are macroalgae orientated sytems we want to keep
I'm pretty sure it's just from nitrogen and phosphates in the tank, it's a relatively high nutrient system, so nuisance algae is inevitable. I'm just glad this stuff is very manageable.

I've been getting good growth on my Halimeda species.

I moved some of my non display mangroves up with my houseplants, and under some fresh t5 plant bulbs. They'll stay here until summer, then they'll go outside and get some good growth.

Hi Sam, what's your opinion with using a few 65w (uses 13w) led lights, says 750 lumens. For a few mangroves? Home Depot has them marked down from $12.99 to $.97 thanks, Ryan

Thanks for the reply! I guess I'll just use a couple of 24in t5 I have laying around

T5s work really well. T5s and LEDs are my preference.

All of your mangroves look awesome. Do you add anything to your water? Or just keep it clean with water changes?

I don't do water changes very often. Today I actually did my first water change since the summer. I supplement iron, calcium, iodine, and other trace.
Nitrogen and phosphate needs are met from feeding the fish.

Thanks guys!

Another cool pic! It so great to get a flow of images from you and others, to inspire us all.

Thanks!

I have to give a lot of credit to my iPhone, for it enables me to take good pics, edit, and post them quickly! I love living in the 4G era, 4G phones and PAR 38 LEDs make my world go 'round.

Well, the Chondria has become the center of business in the tank, both of the clownfish spend a good portion of their time hiding and loving up on it. I have seen the clowns displaying mating-like behaviors at night, and due to the acquisition of a host , I wouldn't be surprised if they began spawning in the coming weeks or months.

This is what they do when I'm not near the tank: sit in the branches of the Chondria
