Mantis and urchin?

What would happen if you put a urchin with a 4" peacock shrimp? would the shrimp try to kill it even tho it has tons of tiny sharp spikes?

It might be food, it might not. Depends on the mantises mood and personality. Serpent stars generally do better with mantises than urchins.

the spines probably wouldn't even penetrate the mantis claws (for lack of a better word) so the mantis would probably (probably) eat it.

mantids are hit and miss with urchins. the mantis' safety is not a cause for worry... these guys can prey on bluring octopi for freaks sake! as for the urchin... well. go with the smallest one you can find to see if the mantis will eat it or not.
