Mantis cost

I don't have one, but my Rainbow mantis was $40.00 (cost from his wholesaler), if and when this one LFS can get me a peacock it will be around the same price, according to him the rainbow I have is extremely rare, I don't know if thats true though.

From what i've read they are called rainbows becuase the when the molt they can dermaticaaly change color to match their surroundings, the range from bright orange to black.

Hey!
I just paid $30 for a peacock at the lfs
about 4-5 in
But I think My friend gave him to me for his cost

2 fish stores in my area have peacocks.....

both are about 3.5 inches.

One store wants $69.99 & the other wants $79.99

No way I would ever pay that for a mantis.....

I paid $9.95 for mine and I was willing to go up to $25.

Peacocks here go for mid $60 or so, mine was going to retail for $100 if I did not buy him, I ordered a peacock but this guy showed up instead, turns out hes pretty rare in the aquarium trade (ie the high retail price). I've spend a huge amount of money at this LFS and not getting what I really wanted initally I was given him at cost. ($40.00)

...I have been seriously considering starting me a mantis tank, then I walk into a LFS today and low and behold. The prettiest mantis I have ever seen....Haven't seen many nor have I done my required research yet. It's about 3" and a noen anti-freeze green. He is $22.50.Could somebody just give me an idea of who could be put with him in a 20L?

I read that even in a 125gl a breeding pair would kill each other because normally the male mantis will go search for a mate find one then leave after the borrow gets to small

these prices are crazy, i live in bay area CA, and i got a peacock thats about 3 inch yesterday for only 15.99, i'm happy i live in the bay area.
