You guys helped me get a mantis shrimp of my own so I can atleast return the favor.
Anyway Aqua Exhibits is selling 2 smasher around 6in. for $39.99 each plus tax. They look really nice.

Aquatics Unlimited (Milwaukee) has 1 yellow and 1 red mantis (pretty shy so I havent seen them out) But they want crazy 50-70 bucks for them. Fishy Business in Kenosha also has a few they found as hitchikers on their liverock. 24.99.

Creade, how is fishy business? Are they as conservative (cheap on their prices as Aqua Exhibits?

Prices are decent for the most part, here and there they hit a fish/coral they overpayed for. Aqua Exhibits prices are probably lower, but its a further drive for me =)
Selection at Fishy Business is great, with a huge stock of corals. Also the owner is willing to order anything you want as far as livestock.

hate to rip on a well loved LFS but west coast wholsalers sell mantis' for like 3-8 bucks a piece irrespective of species, unless it's huge, like a pseudo. maculata. if they found one in their liverock as a hitchhiker, it should be a few bucks not 25 bucks!

Come to the midwest and you will understand. All livestock prices are sick sick sick.

Exactly, it is pretty expensive. People always try to get the most money for their product, and people pay.

If everyone went on strike than maybe the prices would go down
