mantis hotel

I am currently building one. Mine will be a 55g, split into 3 sections by 1/3 inch black plexiglass with holes drilled for water movement. Each section will have its own small powerhead, though the filtration will be from a sump/refugium. I plan on running a skimmer rated for 100-150g set-up. Power compact lighting will most likely be the lighting, though ultimatley I have to see which mantis shrimp will be inhabiting this "hotel." the split will be 15/25/15. I am planning for my ternatensis in a 15, my platysoma in a 15, and maybe a peacock for the middle, but since I have the ternatensis already estabolished in a 20g, I may just add two new mantis and the platysoma to the hotel.

Hope that helps a little, let me know if you have more questions.

T-T-Trigger has one up-and-running. Mine isn't finished yet, though it should be going fine by the end of the month, along with the beginning of my reef tank.

Funny, I have a tern, a Platy and i am getting a Peacock as well.
I also have the G. Viridis and plans for a P. Cilata.
Of course, I may get hitchhikers in my future TBS rock, so that may be 6-10 Mantis by the next month or two. Ach!
And my cats thought that they were being neglected for those strange things in the tanls BEFORE...

PS: Is your very Platy active? I ask because some folks have said that they are too shy/timid.Other than the fact that mine is molting right now, he is pretty active around the tank, though it's a temp 6 gallon, he has room to cruise about, and seems elighted in constantly digging up rocks and rearranging them everywhere.

mine is very active too. More so than my ternatensis, which is always peaking out but rarely cruising around.
