Mantis I.D. - C.tweediei ?

G'day

Got a free mantis today from my LFS (mostly due to size) its sooo tiny that rite now I am not going to attach myself to it since it can commit suicide at will by going through the teeth of the tank dividers, its about 15mm long really small hard to get a good pic with the camera but this is what I got and with what I got on camera I can only assume to be a Chorisquilla tweediei (http://www.ucmp.berkeley.edu/arthro...costraca/royslist/species.php?name=c_tweediei) but I'm never 110% when it comes to this kind of species...

Sorry for the quality but even the mantis I got before this one, the G.T. is much bigger then this latest one....

Although I know we all (most anyway) know where to go to look for the info I thought I would do some of the work for us all and to help justify why I think it is a C.tweediei

#1 The Dark lines running across the white background of the eyes, which looks the same as Chorisquilla tweediei.





#2 Although different colors the patterns are the same.

cant you just keep it in a specimen tank or even a goldfish bow on your desk or something?

Too late....either way I cannot describe enough how small it is...and as soon as it went into its compartment, it disappeared never to be seen....digging for it would either end in me crushing it or just like finding a needle in a hay stack!

Same goes for the G.T. I got just earlier.....

Having said this, I have a friend on a forum bring me his mantis (2) over from the north coast today! 1 is a G.ternatensis but MUCH! larger then my current tiny MIA one....so what I planned on doing is.....Releasing this new G.T> coming today (apprently its around 7cm long) into the same confines that I released the much much much smaller tiny G.T. earlier (this new G.T. couldn't possibly get through or over the overflow teeth so it will be fine! )

The other mantis my mate says he is not sure what it is....he has looked at all my pics and says it is NOT one that I currently have but its slightly smaller then the other, being around 5cm long.

What this means is............STAND A - 1 vacancy left / STAND B - 0 vacancy left / STAND C - 2 vacancy left!

So I need 1 more (preferably spearer, P.ciliata I'm thinking) for STAND A and 2 more larger spearers for STAND C

The markings look similar to C. tweediei, nice find Kharn.
