Hi everyone, I got this mantis about a month ago and have no idea what species. Its very dark green to almost black in color with some white and purple on the inside of its smashers. Sorry for the grainy photos, he's always hiding so its hard to get a good shot. Thanks

The mantis has a white meral spot with red streaks around the periphery.
It is a Gonodactylellus viridis.

When I enlarge the images, the spots on my screen, I don't see the tell tale red - more purple. Sure would like to see a vew of the telson before making a call.

here's an updated photo. I took the rocks out for a short time so I can snap a few pics but he's pretty fast so the pics are still grainy.

Seeing the telson, I would say that timmy is correct: G. viridis.
