mantis shrimp? in my tank

Hi,

My lights have gone out this evening as per normal, so I sat down and listed to the tank..

The noise is more of a nocking sound if one was to nock on a door with a nucle. The sound is quite loud as well, any thoughts?

I saw a white / cream with what looks like hairy body crab 3/4" 1 1/2 years ago with pincers.

Yea you could possibly have a mantis, but keep watching. Mantis sounds and clicks can be mistaken for pistol shrimps.

I've had the rock in my tank for over 2 years now, but not seen any thing.

Can you suggest how to bring it out? or whats the best time to look for it?

that hairy crab sounds like a gorilla crab.
