mantis shrimp on live rock

i bought a nice indonesain rock the other day and tonight i noticed a brown mantis shrimp liveing in it

should i be concerned its not a reef tank
live rock with fish
i have tangs and a koran angel,sweet lips,porcupine puffer

I would try to remove it if you can. Not by hand! Peacock Mantis (Odontodactylus Scyllarus) can split the thumb/finger right open. A fully grown peacock mantis is capable of shattering the glass walls of most aquariums. And they are if not the most intelligent of all the arthropods. They will eat most snails, fishes and other crustaceans and they can grown to lengths of 6 inches. They feed quite heavily too. Their are traps made just for them. Check with your LFS to see if they have them, as this would be the safest way to extracted him from your tank.

Id recomend removing it.

They're great pets but love to kill for fun. Watch for death of inverts (snails, crabs, etc...) usually the fish are suspended (swimming) so it'll be alright.

Get a 10 gallon attached to your tank and use it for a mantis shrimp.

Peacock mantis's aren't brown though.

It will kill your fish, use a trap, get it out, and set up a mantis tank:rollface:

in the long run I think you'll be glad if you remove it. pull the piece of rock out and place in a QT tank it will make it easier to get it out.
