Mantis shrimp on this kind of live rock?

Hi, I am new here and have liked mantis shrimp for a couple of years now after seeing them on animal planet (most extreme) But I didn't have saltwater aquariums back then so I never got one and never even seen them for sale... I recently learned they are hitchhikers on liverock... well sorry for blabbing on and on... I am setting up a 75 gallon aquarium and have live rock from solomon islands and was wondering if mantis shrimp could still be on my live rock or they just don't live there.... and what is the percentage of them on live rock...

thanks :D

While rearanging the rock in my tank I saw what appeared to be a white shrimp ( transluescent spelled right?) with one dark stripe thing down its body and it was 1/2" long and appeared to be a baby mantis shrimp! it didn't look like anything else because it had the body shape of a mantis and even swung around arms like mantis shrimps... I was going to photograph it but it was to small... I will wait for it to grow up... :)

It happens but it's a long shot. I mean its definitely possible to get a hitch hiker mantis shrimp... it happens to many aquarists who order LR online. But then again its hard to factor in odds especially when it varies on the amount of LR you ordered, area the rock is collected, etc. etc. You could get lucky but if this is the only way you'd ever get your hands on a mantis shrimp then don't hold your breath.

There are many websites you can order mantis shrimps from. Unfortunately I don't know of any off the top of my head, but I'm sure if you google it you'll be able to find some.
