mantis shrimp

Hmmm...Just found an article that say's they can indeed put a hole in a glass tank..I guess he won't be going in my sump anytime soon:eek1:

I have read many times that they can break much thicker glass than that of a 10 gallon tank, but I don't think I've ever gotten that from anyone that it actually happened to. My point is that while they are capable of smashing a tank, it doesn't happen very often, if at all.

The peacock mantises are crushers, no? Awesome looking little guys--there's been one at Suffolk Fish for a long time that I love, but not such a good idea with a small child and cats around...

I was there today and saw the one you are talking about ..he is pretty big and looks like he could inflict some serious stuff..

Brilliant color though, no?

(BTW Vyger your candy cane coral is doing very well--splitting and growing fast :) )

Yea Christine...the color is awesome....and I'm glad to hear the candy cane is doing so well..I'll be donating a frag of it as well as some other stuff for the frag tank at NERAC convention.I think that is a great idea BTW....
Thanx for the info LARRY, I will be sure to read the forum on the Mantis
