mantis+starfish+urchin

I know that a Mantis will eat crustaceans but will it eat echinoderms like starfish and urchins?

I was wondering if either of those in an aquarium would be safe with a mantis.

Only some species eat stars, cant remember which but they are less common mantis.
Urchins - i keep a longspine black urchin with a chiragra with no problems.

urchins will likely get eaten. some mantids dont like them, it's pretty much a crap shoot. Sea stars are generally more left alone but that is far from a guarantee.

How would a mantis get through a long spine urchin? bash the spines off?

I have seen O. scyllarus eat urchins and Neogonodactylus oerstedii and N. bredini take Diadema in the Caribbean.

The mantis' I'm interested in keeping are G. Smithii or N. Wennerae if that helps at all.
