Mantis & T5s

i would think that might be too much, but with peacocks they are pretty active so im not sure, if your looking for a good T5 cheap dual fixture get the coralife 30" dual fixture T5 its like $40 and its 36W of light thats what im putting on mine

Hi Luscien

I was told that the boys have kick stands (gonopods) & that the girls do not. Take a look at the link below. Scroll down to picture # 7 & 8 to see there parts. I could be wrong if she has been hiding them but if she does show them I will go back to calling her Liberache rather than Libby.

Thanks, I will ck into it but I already have all the parts & a Icecap Ballast to run them. So you think it will be to much even with all that blue light ?

What bulbs are you using ? 50/50

Where did you get your light fixture from ?

actually the light im currently using in the temporary tank is just two screw in 50/50 bulbs, 1 20W and 1 10W when he gets moved to his next tank though he is going to be getting the 36" dual T5 fixture from coralife, now that i see it has all that blue i dont think it will be too bad, i still think it will be active it will just stay in the rock work more, and im going to order mine online because i cant find any place around here with good things for my aquairums without paying way too much money

also one more thing is a 20L will be too small for an adult peacock, mine is in a temp 12G for the next week or two (water testing the tank for at least 3-4 days) and im going to be moving her to at least a 40 gallon breeder tank, most people say a 30G will be good for an adult but i want the best for mine! plus its going to be my only tank unless i manage to get a small mantis from the guy at petco then that small one will be going in my 12G tank

She is only about 4 inches right now. I will get her a bigger tank after she grows a little bit. I think I read where they are slow growers. Is this true ?

im not sure all i know is that mine is only about 4-5 inches and he is going to be going in there, its alot easier to keep stable conditions and it also leave him room to roam and swim, im going to be puttin damsels in there for him to get some exercise and to hone his hunting skills
