March meeting at Wayne's

Has an official date/time been set for this yet? I have it scribbled on my calendar as being on Sat March 9 from the earlier thread about the year's meeting schedule but wasn't sure if that had changed....

Wayne had to go out of town for a family emergency, but is expected back by the end of the week. I do know the meeting is still on, just not the time of the day. Wayne will fill in the rest of the blanks when he gets back.

March 9th is a Sunday. Saturday is the 8th. Do we know which one it actually is? I have to go to a wedding the 8th, but might be able to make it on the 9th. I get paid the 1st and will be able to pay dues, so hopefully I can attend!

I lied earlier - was looking at Feb when I said the 9th. From the thread awhile back about the year's schedule, it was listed as Saturday, March 8th as far as I know. Then again, I could be a flake and have written it wrong on my calendar too :)

what part of town does he live in. Have never made it to a MTRC meeting looking forward to getting involved with both feet.

he's in murfreesboro...about 5 mins from MTSU

also, i would hope that this would be an earlier/afternoon meeting...i dont think we'll be playing with foam or making rocks in his house...so we'll need some light outside to see what we're doing

John - Agreed on the daylight, but if I know Wayne he has some 400W metal halides sitting around that could shed some light on the situation :)

I talked to Wayne tonight, and he said that the time for the meeting will be from 1 PM to 6 PM at 714 Floration Road, Murfreesboro, Tn link to map is

tried to copy and paste the map to here, but guess you can't copy maps at least from google. if you need turn to turn directions from the interstate let me know.

We do plan on building rock walls using eggcrate, great stuff and live rock, so bring your plans and if you want to build one that day bring your supplies and we can have a lot of fun. I plan on bringing material to build a small one for my snowflake eel in my 55 gallon tank. So get ready, and Wayne will chime in with more details when he gets back.

ok so we need to bring out own supplies...is there a list?...only thing i can think of is

eggcrate
redcan of great stuff
zipties
baserock...(i thought we would be making cement rock at the meet too)

is that it?

Sweet... a meeting 4 miles from my house! :D

Wish I was building a new tank... this would be great for that, needless to say.

I believe John is good on the list of things to bring. I assume everyone understands this, but the rocks will not be finished and ready to go by the end of the meeting. We will likely get as far as the Great Stuff stage, but everyone will have to figure out the epoxy and coral/sand part on their own. Brian and I will bring our completed overflow cover so people can take a look at it and see how our results turned out. See everyone next weekend...

Thanks for the clarifying, as I remember it took several days or stages to be completed. But learning how to get started, what supplies are needed and then seeing one completed project will be super as far as moving along the learning curve, maybe even on the downward side:confused:

OK. guess I should go back and read the thread again on how you and Brian did all that, as I just bought the yellow top can of great stuff:D :D :D

OH Nevermind:mad: I re-read Johns post and saw it was a red "Can" which just happens to have a yellow cap:lol: Oh well, time for a cup of coffee, it's to early even for me.....

Also need a drill and small masonry bit for putting holes in the rock to run your zip ties through. I have a set I can bring, but depending on how many people are going to do it, we may not want to all go off of one drill.
