March Meeting

any volunteers for hosting?

we can do it here if ya'll want, but the last meeting was east and i figured nobody would be up to heading this direction two months in a row.

i propose that we make "the club" the topic of the next meeting. I would like to get input on where you want to see the club go, and get back on a meeting agenda with a topic, speakers, club update, raffles, hosts describing their tanks, etc.

i was thinking we could end with kind of like a secret santa with frags. everybody who wants to participate, bring a "wrapped" frag, and we can trade like with the ornaments at christmas...

so....volunteers?

So Dana

At your house on Friday night the 19th, or Saturday the 20th at noon at your house, or spending the evening with you and Richard on Saturday the 20th. :spin3:

I can attend either time but will need some early notice. I just signed all those boys of mine up for soccer and we have practice on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and games on Saturday. I have help, but will need to arrange it.

Not sure if anyone would want anything in my tank, but I can bring some frags anyway. I certainly would like to have some new/different ones. :)

I am all for the idea of having it at your house Dana! I also like the idea for the coral thing, too bad I don't have any frags... lol

if we do have it here, it would be on saturday and fall on the same day as richard's "mountain jam" which is always at 7pm, so it would have to be earlier. we could do a combo day...reef meeting then jam, and anybody that wanted to stay, could. its a really good time. usually 3 groups of musicians in 3 different rooms, tons of food, etc.

but lets see what the gang says....nothing is in stone, if somebody else wants to host, lets hear it!!

How about making the meeting about 3pm so we can move right on into the Jam? And should I come carrying guitar? :)

As for frag, I can bring a purple mushroom or two. That's about it that can be harvested from my pathetic tank -- unless you want a few giant mini brittle starfish... ;)

3pm would be perfect...and definitely bring the geeeetar. i just thought the swap might be fun, its not mandatory, but mushrooms are good!

sooo, we got a couple "yays" no "nays" so far, so, volunteer now, or forever hold your peace.

no matter where this meeting is held, i really want to use it as a member input meeting. if you're a member and care about the direction of the club, please, please try to come.

we really need to get it together if we're going to have a successful frag swap. if we don't work together on it, there's no point. i know randy worked his butt off getting sponsors the last couple years...he can't do it this year, so it will be up to us.

I'm coming to this one although I will definitely need some directions. What would you like for me to bring food wise. I also may bring some used equipment that I want to get out of my fish room. Don't worry I will be giving this stuff away. I can also bring frags. I assume softies would be the best bet as not everyone would be able to do sps. Looking forward to seeing everyone again.

Definitely bring your guitar Scott!
But not just carrying it, wearing it!!!
That would be too awesome.
Nothing beats a good entrance.

I'll bring a frag of somethin' for someone. Wrapping may be news or toilet paper.

El husbando Richard had a great idea....with us doing the frag swap thing, maybe we could have a little side topic/demonstration on dipping...that way we're sure all the frags go home clean...and we'll waste less iodine if we do them all at one time.

i usually just do an iodine dip for 20 minutes or so, does anybody else have another method they'd like to demonstrate? i know randy has posted his, but we won't have the 4-6 hours to do the interceptor/fluke.

It seems only fitting that I bring the guitar that was bought with the funds generated by selling my 75G reef tank. :)

Just don't expect me to to be any good -- or wear face paint. But perhaps I'll bring along the wah pedal I just bought to mix up better with all those acoustics. ;)

I can't ever come to daytime meetings anymore, remember?

I work at the reef every Saturday.
