We are aiming for 10 days of voting. Due to real life considerations the voting and contest dates are turning out to be somewhat flexible :)

Gregr,

Are people allowed to outright campaign for their photo? Please check these links out.

This photo has gained 20+ votes today, and if this is allowed, I would like to plug several photos in my local forum as well.

EVERYBODY, PLEASE VOTE FOR THE PICTURE YOU THINK IS THE BEST. THERE ARE SOME QUALITY IMAGES IN DANGER OF LOSING BECAUSE SOME DUDE IN COLORADO DECIDED TO POST A WHOLE BUNCH OF THREADS ASKING PEOPLE TO VOTE FOR HIS PIC.

Asking all your friends to take a look at the contest is great but asking all your friends to vote for your picture regardless of whether they think it's the best of the bunch isn't exactly fair, so please, try to keep things good natured around here.
Thanks.

Thanks for the heads-up Christy! We voted...

I remember seeing a flyer at the last frag swap where one of last months contest winners was compainging for votes... It was a nice photo though

Some people are really desperate to try and win this contest, that's a little sad. Asking for people to vote on the pics is great, the more the better. But no reason to ask people to vote for a specific pic IMO.

Its the best picture, thats why it is getting the votes. There is nothing as bright and it is a nice clean macro.

LOL I had an impartial witness (my unsaltwater/photography educated wife) look at all the pix. She did not know who took what pic and she liked the pic in question more than the other two.

I voted, no idea who took it, just the best of the bunch IMHO

Andy

+1 and the one I voted for is not even one of the top 3 dang-it.

Not to beat a dead horse but if you think a photo is the best and you vote for it that's great. But voting for a picture because it's your friends picture is not great- it defeats the purpose of the contest- which is to get the best pictures we can for the 2008 Reef Central Calendar.
Enough said on that topic. Let's move on to more constructive conversations please.
