Mardel Protoshield for Ich Ick Crypto treatment

Has anyone used Mardel Protoshield for ich? I have a blue hippo tang that broke out pretty bad. It is a relatively new tank, about three months old now. Everything was fine then one day he is covered. Water was pretty good but the temp dropped to 75 one night. That might have done it.

I have some green chromis and a little clown in there and a goby.

I was recommended this by the LFS. Was just wondering if anyone else has used it and their results.

Active Ingredients: Chitosan, D-Limonene, Manuka Oil, Neem Oil. None of these are effective in treating crypto. It might make your aquarium smell lemony-fresh, though.

Thats not gonna get rid of the ich. Why do lfs suggest useless products i just dont understand...

they suggest it because they sell it. they sell it, they make money. it doesn't work so buyer comes back for whatever else they suggest. when nothing works and all the fish die, buyer goes back to buy more fish. more fish get ich and die and buyer just runs in circles, occasionally beating his head against the wall. eventually, buyer either gets smart or leaves the hobby.

yeah. me, too. when i upgraded to the 75g i have now, i went to the lfs for salt and fish food. i usually always ask for the same guy, eddie, because he knows my tank and knows what i have. that time, a new guy was waiting on me. i was admiring the nems in one of the tanks and he kept pushing me to buy one. told him i wasn't interested. he knew i had clowns and really started pestering me. eddie walked by and overheard the conversation. he says to the guy, "don't waste your time, you're not gonna sell her anything let alone a nem." i wonder how many people he sold stuff to who didn't know what they were buying. *sigh*
