Can you actually buy stuff at this show? If yes, are the prices cheaper than retail?

It was a good show last year, I got some neat coral.

Yes. I went last year and I am going again this year. They have nice corals for sale. The So Cal Marine Aquarium Society show is better though with more vendors and is cheaper to get in at.

MAX though is a great show and is good to see a lot of the latest dry goods on the market in person where you can pick it up and see things first hand.

While I am down south I will stop by Vivid Aquariums, Aquatic Outlet and Tongs FV. All nice stores.

You should stop by Capistrano Reef too!

Prices will really vary, there will most likely be plenty of high priced semi rare corals(last time I saw acan colonies for like 2-4 grand already sold when I walked in first thing)
Best coral choice will be saturday, usually Sunday there will be less pickens, but better deals.

Went there today, fairly decent turnout, and some nice corals.
Saw quite a few tanks that had good size acro colonies in the $80 or so range, good deals to be had.
I spent a bit more than I should have, but I'm smilin'!

Just got back I am more into the equipment, there are a lot of people selling frags the prices seemed pretty good, I got a 8 head Acan for 30 bukcs from Cherry Corals, it was nice to speak with the Eheim rep, I got three past warranty issues taken care of.
