Marine Beta...?

I'm consdering adding a Comet as my next fish. I have only one fish in tank at the moment - an Ocellaris clown. He's about 2.5" or so. I realize the Comet's a predator but I wanted to ask if the Clown would be safe around him or if he's small enough to become lunch?

Any other experiences you can relate with this fish would be awesome. Great forum so far - lots of help for me :)

Thanks!

My marine betta never bother small fishes , have grown 1.5 inch percula clown without any problem, so your 2.5 inch clown will be safe. Don´t forget to put caves to offer the comet safe places to stay

I have 1-2 small caves and some overhang. I was thinking of starting with a juvenile and hoping he'd adapt to the overhangs later on. If not I can just put another bit of rock leaning against the overhang for a larger cave.

I've mine for over 2 years now and over that span I had introduced smaller wrasse and gobies without any problem. They're pretty hardy, eat flakes & pellets and doesn't grow much. Try getting one in the 3-4" range and it should do very well for you.

+1...had mine over 5 years...presently in a 450g DT with over 60 fish...many smaller (bite size)...never a problem!

I have had one in my 120g for about 1 month now after 2 mo in QT. He seems to be doing well, but as most owners have said, this is a shy fish that prefers staying close to his cave and coming out once the main tank lights are out and only the actinics are on.
