Marine pure ceramic media balls

I have some of these in a tank that has ich for sure in it but I want to use these for filtration capacity in a 125g QT I'm setting up for fish that will be arriving in 2 weeks. Question is how long do I need to boil these to be sure there are no ich cysts transferred into the QT system?

I don't trust the water and bleach method being that one of these balls has more surface area than 1300 bio balls

Seriously no one? I've read that 104 degrees for 1 hr is sufficient is this accurate? The fish that will be going into the 125g are a bandit angel and a crosshatch trigger so for obvious reasons I really don't want to mess this up... I know I could buy new marine pure ceramic balls but it have a ton of them and would like to use what I have. My disease treatment method always involves meds so this whole high temp killing ich is foreign to me

Steve can you weigh in on this... What if I bake them in the oven at 400 degrees for 30 or more? If they are completely dry the ich is no longer correct?

I agree about the surface area and bleach, but what if you ran in a bucket for a few days with a power head running over and around them?

I have thought about this too, then I would still bake them in the oven I think. Point being I don't want to take any chances introducing ich into this QT through these. I could always buy new ones I suppose but I have a ton of them already and would like to use what I have

Thank you Steve! It all makes sense in my own mind but I always like some others to weigh in since we all know what happens when you only consult yourself...:headwally:
