Marineland can give you a lifetime warranty on the tank/s you purchase from them (retailers) but only if you buy a cabinet from them. Good warranty but only covers the tank/cabinet, any other damages are not covered.
Someone here on RC posted images of a different manufacturer's tank where the whole front glass just detached from the rest of the glass panes, big thick glass and the images show the glass piece as a whole unit just resting its weight on some living room furniture.
It reminds me of years ago of the debate about the Odysea light fixtures catching and seting homes on fire.
I owned a couple and never had any issues.
There have been leaky tanks from many manufacturers, of that I'm sure. I don't think my tank will spring a leak and I'm building the stand for it; I don't like the height of their stock stands.
I bought another cube, rimless 24x24x19, made by the same company, this one has clear silicone and is a lower end tank, meaning no Starphire and seems the silicone was applied by a new, in-training employee. I'm going to give myself the task of taking that glass tank apart and put it back together with black silicone but that's a different story...
I'd say go for it and if you get the tank drop shipped, inspect it well and if possible, don't sign if you notice damage on it; trucking company might just rush you into signing.
