So what's the hiearchy?
Emma > Amanda > Fish > Mark? :frog:
hah dang and a plane ticket to california for a day wouldn't be cheap.
Depends on whether you're asking Mark or Amanda:lol2:
But really I think it's more like this:
Emma > Fish = Corals > Amanda > Mark. Mark may think he's higher on the totem pole, but he's smart enough to pretend to ask Amanda's opinions...:fun4:
LOL, poor Mark! We're just having a lil fun :wavehand:
You also forgot about Rubi, Lucy the cat and that other frickin ferrel cat that showed up a couple months ago and I can not catch :blown:
Not really. I changed things up because I had too many corals fighting for light and flow against each other. The problems started about 3 weeks after the rescape after the mechanical problems started to pile on one after the other.
Firstly - Its a bummer to hear about problems with your system, Mark. I'm a fan and it is a pain to read of things going down hill. As far as your test kits go, the most recent Salifert kits I've gotten have included a little bottle of calibration solution. Seems like a great idea. All kit makers should follow suit.
Secondly, I think this is an extremely important topic that we discuss on the large reef tank forum. I have seen several systems run into problems from being "too successful" (our 180g system was one of these). Big coral colonies create a complex set of challenges such as high uptake of alk, ca, trace elements; flow and light obstruction; chemical warfare; the list goes on. I would be really interested in participating in a discussion that addresses these issues and how we're handling them.
Nice photo Mark  Do you turn off your flow when you photograph?
absolutely amazing! your photography is amazing aswell as your tank
ALT simplex?
Looks more like a granulosa to me :lol2:
Well, that was my first guess. Your alt simplex seems to have the some coloration :strange:.
