Mark's 180 Starfire upgrade

Just for you Brian. I added it to the display with the lights off and it started posing right away.

I absolutely LOVE these fish, one of my true all time favorites! Just wish I could get one that would stay alive for me? I've done everything by the book and for the life of me I can't get one to stay alive for me.

Although, I've only had one try recently and it was some years back that I tried a few of them consecutively with bad luck in each instance.

Wish I could get a good one... :(

Very nice Mark! I use to have one a few years back and they definitely are one of my favorites. I'm surprised he's out already... a very good sign!

Hi Mark,

Is the leopard wrasse what they call a red one? I've seen LA has had a couple for sale lately. Even saw a pair one time not long ago IIRC.

Beautiful Leop! I love those things. Will try to expand my collection over time :)

I was thinking of your pictures as she was eating mysis at the store. I watched her eat 4 pieces and as she was eating the 5th, I said "I'll take her" :p

Chad, I'm not sure. I just think of it as a female Macropharyngodon meleagris, but here is Terry's old article.

LOL......eating is my favorit past time. If a fish eats, then it must come to my house

Yep, that's a female M. meleagris. I think the red leopard that Chad is referring to is the M. choati, which is an SOB to keep alive.

M Choati just came off the list ;) Thanks Pook

Nice pickups. Throw some pics up when you get a chance.

I was wondering, when you first set up the tank, you placed a PVC board down, did you silicon it to the bottom? How's the sand/diatoms thing going now?

What do you mean pics? Have you not been reading this thread :lol2:

I siliconed the bottom and the edges when I put down the PVC.

The brown diatoms have not come back, but I do see some green algae bloom from time to time.

of the fraaaags.... the frags man...

I'm debating whether to swap out my sand or siphon it all out. I got some diatoms in some areas and it's not to my liking...

Nice fish photos Mark. Love the leopard and the Joc looks likes it posing...and I thought that the Jocs were too rambunctious to train.
