Hey Mark! How often are you dosing prodibio?

Jay, I really am not following a schedule anymore. I used to alternate products weekely and feed reefbooster once or twice a week. I am lucky to remember to dose at all these days.

I'm just curious. I'm considering pulling out the fuge as my fuge light just went out and I kind of hate how pieces of chaeto always float into the display.

Mark how's the new gig going? Love to get an update on your tank and some picts when you have a moment, hope all is well.

Dan, The new gig is going well. Its a different pace than what I am used to, but thats not a bad thing. I have more time to do some of the things I really enjoy. This hobby has been one of convience since I was always either at home or at work so the change of priorities has unlocked the shackles of the tank and it feels really nice. The colors may not be the same since I am not chasing parameters right now. I am sure the excitement will come back, but I went to a fish store yesterday and left without being excited about anything at all. Thats a new one for me.

As for pictures, I haven't taken any pictures of the tank since the 4th of July and even though I'd like to take some new shots, I have been just too lazy and uninterested in looking at the tank. Maybe I will get a new series of shots in the upcoming weeks as the governor has told me to stay home 3 Fridays a month without pay :(

I take it you are coming from non-government. Hey, there is something to be said about having a little more free time and choosing to spend it with your family and/or other interests. I made a switch in types of companies I work for a few years ago and cut down on the hours I spent at work to achieve more balance as a result of the arrival of my munchkins. I try to get my tank stuff done either before they are up or after they're asleep to maximize the time spent with them. I also squeeze time in with the wife, luckily she's pretty understanding (most of the time) and my son loves the hobby too.

So true Dan, sales is just a tad different than rank and file :p I leave my work on my desk and when I log out for the day, thats it. There is no waking up in the middle of the night wondering about new documents and deadlines. The money is definitely not the same and that is something I am considering in my future of the tank, but with having the extra time, I have even seem myself smile a little more often. Being such a competitive person, the change in occupation has also put that on the back burner and it has carried into my view on the tank.

As for the tank, I have cut the lighting down to 10 hours of VHO's and 3.5 hours per halide. I have a lot of things growing into each other and causing shading, so I am getting ready to order a dozen tubes of IC gel to start the tank over haul. I just am trying to decide if I want to start fresh with new LR as I still believe that my current rock in partially bound up with po4.

Well I know that you'll make decisions best for you at this time. Sometimes dialing it back a little will rekindle the passion for the subject at hand. I certainly hope so as your frequent pictures were something that I looked forward.

I'm trying the dialing back thing right now Dan and sometimes when you dial it back too far, its just not worth the upkeep. Thats one of the things about having a tank full of sticks, if you don't keep up with the maintenance, the corals will make the decision much easier :(

Unfortunately I have some recent experience that has increased my qualifications.:(

I don't know how you sales guys do it. You say you just leave the office at quitting time, I would always be dwelling on closing the deals to put food on the table. I'm good with deadlines; at least I have some control on the outcome.

C'mon Ian, You're saying this to the guy that would rather throw away corals than dealing with the hassle. Its even worse now that I have to work during the week

Glad to see that the job is going well. As for the corals.... I have a 270 that needs to be filled :D.

Thanks Brian, I thought you recently posted that you wanted to wait for the perfect params before adding corals
