Mark's 180 Starfire upgrade

Another morning and she's pretty active. I saw her suck down one worm, but that was it :) She also really likes to eat the sponges that are on the lr.

That's great news, Mark. Any luck with the clams on the half shell? Just make sure you pull them after a couple of days or they can foul your water pretty quick.

Kenny, the lfs was out of them so I will probably head out to yr today as I need to pick up a couple other items as well. I was told only to leave the clams in for 24 hours at the most.

LOL........I chalk it up to an Asian thang. At least I got rid of my nasty habit of haggling everyone to death :lol2:

Day 2, still swimming right side up :)
I finally got some clams on the half shell yesterday so we'll see how that goes. She is really picking at the rocks and especially the sponges. I saw her suck down a couple worms this morning and a few arcti-pods :)

Its really pretty entertaining. I have her in a corner of my QT system. I turn off all the flow make sure the tank is completely still. I then start with the pellets and garlic mix, then the PE mysis, enriched brine, arctipods and selcon mix, then the clam on the half shell and finally, the live worms :) The couple fish I do have in there with it just wait behing the egg crate.

Turning off the flow has given me the chance to feed a couple of my LPS out there that I have not really paid attention to in a long time as well.

Mark, I don't know if this helps. When I try to get a new fish or picky eater to eat, I usually try to feed just one thing during each feeding. My feeling is that I don't want to overwhelm or confuse the fish with all these different foods. Once I find something that the fish takes consistently after a few attempts, then I keep using that one along with something new each time and build up the food mix.

I've heard both ways. Luckily the area is large enough for me to use the turkey baster and feed to the corners while the LR is in the middle. I also took out a fe niuce pieces of sponge from the dispay and attached them to a rock via a rubberband. At least 50% of the sponge was removed in 24 hours.

Thanks again Kenny for the tips. When I was looking in the tank, I saw an encrusted piece of that acro tip you sent to me ;)

LOL.....if you are talking about the one I am thinking of, I still have that colony, fortunately. It just needs a lot of coloring up to do.
