Mark's 180 Starfire upgrade

WOW! Great News.... Lets just hope that the Jocs are used to her now and stop picking on her!!! Fingers Crossed...

I was definitely happy to see her, but asking the jocs to behave is proabably a little much :crazy1:

After watching Alabama whoop up on Florida this afternoon, I got the great idea to put sand back in display...

Even though the tank is somewhat cloudy still and I hope that found all of my chalices, I sure missed the sand when the tank was bb :)

Various sized aragonite before adding it

What sand product is that? It's definitely larger grained than most use, but I'm starting to consider using sand on my next setup. Can you sum up your experience BB, and why you decided to add the sand?

Looks better with sand ;)

I put the sand back in, stepped backed and just had to smile :D I also turned on the UV for the first time in a few months. I'm just making sure the fish are nice and comfortable :p

The majority of it is a dry aragonite product by natures ocean. Its their #4 product. I have seen pleanty of tanks with this side grain especially since some of us like plenty of flow. I am planning on replacing my two 6055's with another pair of 6105's :eek1:

Do you worry about the UV and Prodibio?

Do you worry about the UV and Prodibio?

Why? because the UV will kill the beneficial bacteria? I have never used it as a complete system. I turn the UV on every few months for a week or so. I've got good colors with or without the prodibio ;)

Good news on the fish, bud. Glad to see some sand back in the tank :)

Thanks Kenny. I am very happy to have the sand back as well. It just completes a tank in my opinion. I also had a lot of help as Emma was telling me where to put the sand :p
