Mark's new build

Wow! What determination you have. So many ups and downs in this hobby. I am glad you stuck it out. Your tank looks great and the fish are awesome. I hope your luck turns for you now.

I am also thinking about the ceramic rock. Did you replace this? Was it the source of your troubles? Would you use it again?

Thanks for you help!

Sorry to hear about everything that happened, but I like the new look more so far, very excited to see how this grows out.
Thank you.
Really nice aquascape. .sorry to about all the issues glad things are getting better
I am glad too, this hobby can test your will and patience.
digging the new scape mark! No issues with the flame angel?
I really like my new rockwork too, now just have to let corals to take over. Flame angel typical, nips here and there but no damage so far, but I keep a close eye on it, any problem and it will go. I feed my fish 3 times, hope this will help.

Thank you, this hobby is like drug for me, hard to quit and stay away for long. :)
I still use ceramic rock, just re-aquascaped and added ceramic tonga branch. I found out, that Cerameco, maker of those had a problem with their paint leaching, now they make rock without it, mine was colored, it took good few months of scrubbing and blowing my rock, but it looks good now.

Can you tell us more about your canopy? Why did you build it?

Also, what's your bulb combo and photo period like (or used to be). Sorry to hear about the bugs.

That's great. Thanks for the info. I have already ordered a medium bonsai and grotto!

Detail about canopy is on page 5, I build it because my fixture is high and light coming out of the fixture was bothering me and my wife. Also I like the look overall. My current bulb combo is:
front to back
KZ Superblue
UVL Super Actinic
KZ New Generation
ATI Coral +
custom led ( mostly blue and royal blue )
KZ Superblue
KZ New Generation
KZ Superblue
KZ Superblue

My photoperiod is 12 hours, led and outer 4 bulbs, with inner 4 running for 6 hours only.

Mark- So glad you fought back and got through the hurdles. Your simplistic scape is so impressive to me. Hope the new fish and corals do well this go around.

Good rockwork ..but too little space to put corals

Well, it is by design, I don't like piles of rock just to put many corals on. I like something different and actually there is a lot of places for coral, hard to see from side shot. Right now I have little over 40 pieces of acropora. When they grow out I might move them around or eliminate them completely if I start losing overall shape, or they get too big and overshadow others.

Slowly everything is coloring up, still can't completely get rid of this ugly, brown fuzz from my ceramic rock, but it is getting better. Hopefully it will disappear in few weeks, definitely rocks are leaching something.
Few pictures to keep this thread going
