Maroon clown in reef

I would like to know if I can place a Maroon clown in a 90 gallon that houses plenty of liverock(110lbs) and one scopas tang, one lemon damsel, two yellow clown gobies. I hear that the maroon will cause mega problems. Please give some insight.

i have a pair in my 92 corner w/ a PT, algae blenny, 6line, cardinal. no problems. the PT is more of a problem. the maroons mind their business, BUT some can be a real bit*ch. i think you're best bet is to offer them something to host in, like an enenome or maybe open brain, like mine hosts in.

I would like to give it a host but I am not a superbig fan of nems. I have alot of corals an the last nem I put in would not settle anywhere. I have a massive hammer coral, I wonder if that will do.

It might, it might not. Hosting is even more hit or miss with corals than it is with anemones.

i would go with an easyier clown like a A.percula or A. perideraion (skunk) a percula would most likely take to the happer mine are in a frogspawn

I have a bonded pair of Maroons and they don't show agression at other tank mates, but hate for anything new to go into the tank near their host....ex. Frags, new corals, hands ect.... Also my maroons do not host an anemone, but rather they host a 14" gigas clam....funny critters. My female is 5"+ and like I stated I added a starry blenny, engineer goby, copperbanded butterfly to the tank with no problems. They pair never even noticed. I also have a purple tang and a hawkfish in there as well.

I have a pair of Maroons too. I love them. They don't bother any of the new of old tank mates. Just hang out in their anenome all day. Like Loralie stated, they hate new corals, rocks placed near their home...they will try to push it or knock it down. They don't really care if I added any new fish to the tank but if it was another type of clownfish...trust me, the female maroon will not leave it alone. KILL!KILL!KILL!
