Hi, I just bought a rbta, placed it in my tank and about 5 mins my maroon pair is nipping at it. Their not pulling on the tenacles... just nipping at it and hopefully trying to host it and not hurt it. Im wondering if this is normal, if not what action(s) should I take? Thanks in advance.

Clowns test the Nem alot with their mouths. Then nip at the foot and rub agains't it. And the tentacles. etc. That's how they get immune to the sting and don't get eaten! They are pretty smart and one of the things that make them special in the fish world. You might have noticed they have their own thread!

Just make sure your nem is big enough to host 2 maroon's. And also Maroon's tend to jump like a Cinnamon. So don't put them in an open top!!

Or like my Cinnamon that jumped out and died. I didn't know better at the time. I still feel bad about that! And was years ago.

Mouthing, where they put the tentacles in their mouth is normal. Biting down on the anemone violently is not normal. It happens, it's just not normal. I have had a Maroon kill a BTA before, so you may want to keep an eye on them. If it gets to rough, you may need to separate them.

Yep he is right. Every fish is different. You will have to determine it by watching the tank. They shouldn't actually tear the tentacles off.
