Okay folks... somewhat new (lurker) here, and thought I'd ask some advice from "experienced" peeps.
If you've done this successfully, then please respond.
I had a small male, and larger female Maroon Clown pair in my tank. Sadly, the male fit through my overflow teeth (he was super small) and ended up being pushed back up through my sump pump and into my locline nozzle. He didn't make it the second go around, and perished.
I'd like to get a mate for my other Maroon (and yes, I know they change gender - hence "mate"). But I know my maroon is pretty well established and might just be (too) territorial to not only another clown in the tank, but another Maroon.
The current Clown is hosted in a small anemone, but I have more than one Nem in the tank. As well, the clown will sometimes hang out in my duncans. He's pretty much claimed his territory, and will even move frag plugs when I place them too close to his home, and his Nem.
For those of you who have done it;
What's the best way to introduce another Maroon Clown??
I also have a large fuge I can put the current Maroon into to confuse him a bit. My thought was to remove him from the main tank, and put him and the new Maroon into my fuge (25gal) and let them "get to know" each other before putting them back into the main tank. Thoughts??
