maroon clown question

If the GSM is hosting(an anemone), will it continue to move sand?

I am tired of my GSM moving sand and she is very difficult to get out of the tank. I am hoping that if she is hosting, she will forget about the sand.

If anything I would almost expect it to get worse.

Part of the reason I sold my GSM pair and Clarkii pair was because of their digging -- both pairs were always hosted by anemones.

Yeah they are quite the digger and they will be digging till they get out. It is hard to catch them it took me forever to catch mine but i got her out and was happy

A freind of mine had a maroon that would rearrange everything within eye shot of it's "corner" of his tank. After it started tossing SPS plugs and zoas behind the rocks he got rid of it.
Separate Species only setup in it's own nem appears to be the best method for keeping one. For they can be agressive and move things not to mention the that they are tough to pair up.

I have 2 in separate systems and will be housing them in a 50 breeder with an eggcrate wall between them in the nem filled tank. After a year or so I will lift the eggcrate gate and see if they will pair up. But that's another tale. Or is it tail? ;)

Ah, someone got the direction of "hosting" correctly. Anemones "host", clownfish "associate". To the original poster, GSM will dig, dig dig.
