Maroon Clown wagging its tail

Hi, my maroon clown does a lot of sand stirring ... Often the tank is cloudy because of this. Is this because it is trying to defend its territory or because it is trying to make a special "spot" for itself?

I also noticed where it swept all of the sand out of a corner of the tank, it tends to bring food there and "drop" it and swim away...

this seems odd since there is no anemone.

Maroons will reorganize and reaquascape constantly. Now that mine have a nem they are better about not doing that, but the momma will still have a fit if I put anything new in her area and try to move it out of "her" area. If it's small enough she will carry it away, otherwise she will just push it out. She has pushed away rocks bigger around then she is long (4")

Back before the nem she used to feed her cave, which is also where the two cleaner shrimp lived... They loved all that free food

Ive had the same question. Observing the behavior I can think of no logical reason for it. Maybe a defensive thing - throw up a "sand" screen. But the times they do it are so random. I'd love an answer to this question.
