Maroon gold stripe

Hi, Im sort of new to SW, I just picked up a Gold stripe maroon clown on the black friday 70 % off sale nice fish but so far he just is near the top back and doesnt swim at all. I tried to feed a tiny amount of flake with no responce, is this normal for a new clown ? :fish1:

It's probably still adjusting to being moved, how long has it been in your tank? What are your tank parameters? Did you acclimate it properly?

Clowns usually feel at home when they have an anemone. I kept 2 perc clowns and they always felt out of place in my other tank. Now I have a maroon in my tank with a GBT and he loves it and he is happy and eating. So anemone makes a clown happy. Try it u will love it just make sure u have good lighting.

if I am understanding you correctly, you bought the fish today. This sounds like pretty normal behavior to me.

It may take 2-3 days before he or she settles in and eats. Btw, try feeding frozen mysys.

give him some time to settle in. also make sure there are places for him to run and hide. the more hiding places he has the more settled he will be. My clown took like a few days before he explored his tank.

yeah he'll eventually start eating. my took almost 4 days if i remember correctly

Great fish. I have a pair that I have had for almost 12 years. Hope its not the first fish in the tank though. They are extremely aggressive and territorial. If its the first fish in then the tank belongs to her and you may have difficulty adding other fish in the future.
