Maroon Help!

Okay...so as you all probably know, I have a pair of juvenile Maroon clowns that were bred at ORA. The female is laying on the ground, but breathing normally. Has been doing that all day, possibly for two days. The male is fine, and swimming/eating. What is wrong with the female?! I don't see any parasites on her or any other kind of disease on her. She let me catch her in a net and put her into a plastic breeder thing, but is still in the tank that she has been in (10 gallon). The weird thing though, is that the male is just dandy. Please help!

Hey guys! I am sooooo glad that I got such a quick reply telling me what was wrong with my female maroon and what I could do to help her! She is now dead! Yay! Thanks again! All 23 of you!

sorry to here about your clown im new to the hobby and have posted some threads and had alot of veiws but no response it is really frustrating when you post and nobody will reply

maybe in a 4 hour period nobody who looked knew what was wrong! don't blame a dead fish on us. it honestly could have been so many things..... did the maroons get along? with 2 juvi maroons i would guess not. maybe the "male", i put it in quotes becuase they are juvi and you don't know which is which yet, rammed her and disrupted her swim bladder and or caused internal damage. in which case there wasn't anything you could do.

I think I have heard about this. Is this that new thing called sarcasm? I heard all the cool kids are doing it. Can I try? Here goes.......... Sorry I let your fish die. Get it? 'Cause it was my fault! Haha, sarcasm is fun.

Sorry, didn't see that you were is high school. Guess your irrational and emotional displacement of blame is to be expected. All that teenage angst built up inside of your little soul.

That was why I was so irrational. Sorry guys/gals. I realized that it was stupid of me to have bought two maroons and keep them in a 10 gallon. I should have just left them at PetCo for somebody else to buy. :(

Exactly!:eek2:

Elevate: You may have been a little harsh, although, respectively correct. I too, have freaked out when I had a sick fish & didnt get a reply w/in a few hours. Irrational & emotional displacement is in effect @ all ages, not just a teenager...heck (yep, from the south) I'm almost 50 & still go there from time to time......hormones, maybe... lol. When you really care about this hobby, & truly care about your inhabitants you have a tendency to "loose it" when all is not going well, especially when you are a newbie.

Titus77: lesson learned. This hobby will teach you many lessons for many years..you will always be a student (as I have learned). There are people on this site, who have been on here for years who still ask questions. You knew there was a problem w/ your clown you asked for help. If any of the people who viewed your thread knew what to do they would have answered. When it comes to a sick fish (other than ick ect..) its really hard to diagnose., therefore, no quick answers.

Yes, a 10 gal is too small to put 2 maroons in. (once again, lesson learned). But, then this is a learning experience for all of us.

Hang in there & best of luck
:strooper:

I am one of the many people that look and never respond to sick fish threads...

WHY? Because I don't know what to say or what treatment is appropriate. I feel I may do more harm than good. Even an expert can't help over the internet.

Sorry you lost your pet. Poor girl...

2 baby clowns are fine in a extremely well maintained 10 gallon. But only if it is a quarantine tank.
