I've been interested in having a pair of maroon clowns(P. biaculeatus) for a while, but now I'm favoring cinnamon clowns(A. melanopus). Can you give me some pics of either species? Which would you choose?

Wait, let me tell you about what my tank will be like. I have around 100 lbs of LR. It will have a lot of Chlorodesmis algae aka Turtle Weed on all the rocks with a GBTA. I'm looking into getting a small school of Apogon cyanosoma. That's all for now. I'm still setting it up, but this is my plan.

Can you guys please explain why you chose one species over the other?

maroon all the way they wont bother a school of small fish and would thrive in enviroment like that

I voted Cinnamon just because I like the body shape of tomato-complex clowns. :)

How goes the setting up?

20? Really? Wet Web Media told me that they do really well in small groups. Is 20 considered "small"?

Right now I still need to get all the plumbing setup. Basically, I have most of my equipment and my LR has been sitting in a curing container for over a month. While I have your attention, are any of these good for attaching LR? Also, would you guys recommend any of these carbon products? Sorry, but I'm taking advantage of the thread. I'm gonna buy a couple more things from Marine Depot, and I'd like to buy my activated carbon and epoxy from them too.

Now that I'm looking at them more, A. melanopus looks pretty nice. Can someone tell me about their behavior?

I love how my maroon clown looks plus if it's really healthy mine has a cool glowing orange band around its fins.

Pet Education recommends a small school of 5-10. Combining that with WWM's response, I think I'll agree with Pet Education, unless someone else is against it.

Still, what are cinnamon clowns like behavior-wise?

I wish I could, friend, but my tank is currently sitting with 4lbs of rock, a couple snails, and some hermits...lol

However, I can tell you what Michael's "Marine Fishes" book says about 'em...but you've probly read it.

"it can be belligerent, often fighting with other anemonefishes and more-passive tankmates."

So...sounds like pretty much every other clown I've ever heard of...lol

You know i'll be waiting on pictures...You better get them up the DAY you get water in this tank :)

Any of those epoxys will work fine. As for the carbon, those will also all work fine. I prefer the Kent brand my self.

I like the maroon clowns my self. The cinnamon clowns are more agresive towards other tank mates. IMO

I've read that maroons, cinnamons, and A. cyanosoma swim near the bottom. Should I take this into consideration or will they swim at all levels of the tank? How aggressive will the cinnamons be? So aggressive that they'll attack my cyanos?
