Maroon tore a piece of RBTA!

Hi,

I was wondering if someone knew why my Maroon decided to rip a tentacle off of my RBTA and then eat it? Is this a common occurence? The anemone is healthy and is opening back up again.

Yeah, it happens all the time. Mine usually just mouths the tentacles, but on occasion, she'll actually take a chomp. I've heard quite a few others with the same experiences. Maroons can be pretty rough on their anemone's, though, so if yours isn't significantly bigger than your clown (at least 2x I think is what I've heard), keep an eye on it. Maroons have been known to abuse their host anemones to death. . .or so I've been told.
