Marron clown

Hi:
I've bought a pair of gold stripe maroon clown, to a serious supplier, none of them have the gold stripe at this moment, they're between 3/4 and 11/2 inches. He told me that they shoud change the white line to the gold or yellow when they get mature. I'v read the same, but I want to be sure, these type of clown (gold stripe maroon )is my favorite.

I had a buddy buy a pair when they were tiny.
They both had white stripes.
He was starting to think he got rippped off.
After a few months in his tank though i could start to notice the gold starting to come in on the top of his head first.

On the other hand i bought a GSM with some of the gold visible on him he was probobly 1.5". Ive had him for about 7 months now and the gold has gotten a little bit darker but not much.

I think it really depends on the fish and the tank as to when or how quickly the gold will come in.
