Marroon Reflections

I recently got a Marroon and he never really leaves the side of the tank... Specifically the glass. He is definitely seeing his own reflection, I noticed him today swimming up and down the glass, then stopping and shaking fins and body.

What do I do? Just wait for it to grow out of the behaviour? He never really swims in and out of the live rock except when the lights go out. Ive had it for about 2 weeks.

Theres nothing you can really do, i sortof cured the behavior, by tapping the glass next to his eye, it eventually got him to stay away from it. Also, try feeding him away from the glass, he will realize it eventually.

yep. mine is tank bred. and when i got her she wouldent go near the rocks or corals. just the glass and a maxi jet.

I eventually got her a bta and bam, she was on it in moments. now she tunnels her way thru the rocks and is part of the tank.

On the other hand i got a wild caught juvi maroon later on. and it immediately took to the rocks and the bta with no issues.

Id avoid em to if your tank is 7 gallons. Maroons get to be 6 inches!!

Give it time. Maybe get yourself a turkey baster and shoot the food closer to the rocks so it has to go there to eat. where does it sleep?

He heads down into the rocks! No problems at night, it chills out in a little crevas. At day, he is just nonstop at the surface, or against the glass lookin at himself.
