Over-The-Top- Reef Geek
Hi Everyone:
Just wanted to give you a heads-up that the November MASLAC meeting is being pushed back a week,to November 18th. Same location and time (Salads Galore in Encino at 6:30PM). And, boy- it's gonna be a BUSY, action-packed meeting!
Our featured speaker will be Adam Blundell, and his presentation will be on "What IS Reef Safe?". Adam has spoken at MACNA, IMAC, and numerous clubs around the country. You'll really like his down-to- earth, nuts-and-bolts style of presentation. This is sure to be a fun presentation and discussion for reef geeks at all levels of hobby experience!
We're leaning on a couple of members in the hope that we can land one to do the Featured Member's Aquarium presentation...I'll keep ya' posted! This has proven to be one of our most popular features at our meetings. Everyone loves seeing what their fellow reefers are up to! If you want to do one at a future meeting, don't be shy- step up and let me know!
Also- November is the presentation of candidates and election for the 2007 MASLAC Board of Directors! All members in good standing are eligible to run for postions and vote!!! This is your big chance to play a key role in MASLAC for 2007!!!
In addition, we'll have our MASLAC Logo Contest entries at the
meeting for everyone to check out and vote on. As previously
mentioned, we're selecting a NEW logo for MASLAC in 2007, and we've had some great entries thus far! If you have the interest in
designing one, you can still bring it to the November meeting to be voted on by your fellow members! The designer of the winning entry will receive a paid one year membership to MASLAC!
Last, but certainly not least, we'll have our fabulous raffle!
Dennis, our Raffle Chairman, will open up his treasure trove of
killer raffle items once again, and we'll have a nice array of
goodies for you to try to win!
Don't forget the big Holiday Party/Moonlight Workshop at the
Warehouse in Marina Del Rey in December! Stay tuned for all of the details right here on the Yahoo group for what promises to be a fun event for all! A great speaker (Tulio Del Aquilla), a fun project (Build your own moonlight!) and a good meal with friends...Not to mention, the "mother of all raffles" with some AMAZING, HUGE prizes!
There is a whole lot going on at MASLAC this Fall, so be a part of it!
