At some point the club talked about having a meeting concerning photographing our tanks, with awards like that, I think we all should consider it.

Hi All,

That sounds like a good meeting topic. Everyone brings in a CD of their tank and if we can find a laptop it sounds like a great meeting. Each person that brings in a CD gets 10-15 minutes to talk and explain their system.

Dave, I was more eluding to a teaching us how the heck to take good stills of our tanks kind of workshop. I can do any kind of photography EXCEPT good stills of my tank, and it makes me nuts. I know that Kevin and others have the technique down, so even a get together on a non-meeting night for any interested would be good. IF we can get a volunteer to be the teacher, and enough interest in it. Any takers? But I do love the CD idea and showing off the tanks at some point. Too few meetings in a year and so much that could be programmed in!!

Hi All,

OK, I have to respond to Kevin's statement. I have to admit that the clubs programs struggle at times to get speakers. I persuaded Than Thein to give us a talk last year but I don't have the contacts to even begin to get speakers. I would not mind being part of a committee to look for topics for meetings. That would be kind of fun. But Peter seems to have the contacts and/or knowledge on that topic. I feel the club needs to educate and inform the members on the state of the hobby. If I come up with ideas or if Peter needs help I am available but I don't have the time to go pick up people at the airport and wine & dine them.
Nice try Kevin, did I give you a political enough answer? Ha Ha.
