Master DOC Skimmers

Nothing exact yet but October for the small ones, November for the big ones is what was projected.

Hi Roger,

How does a 9015 compare to a Master 9420 ?
(Say we forget the price and the size)

Yes, one is intended for 1500 litre max, the other for 2000 litre max, but their power consumption is very close. (That's why I 'm not comparing 9020 and 9420 despite they are designed for the same tank capacity).

Is the 9420 just 30% "more powerful" than the 9015 thanks to the additional 30% of air injection or is there also a difference is the quality of the foam ?

Is the traditional "large pipe" design that has been chosen for the Master DOC series a marketing choice or is it a mandatory approach for large skimmer design ?

Philippe

I have not run them side by side so I cannot say but I would predict the 9420 to be at least 50% stronger than the 9015 given the large reaction chamber and slightly smaller bubble. I hope to get a sample to test soon. Claude was one of the main people who designed the skimmer so he is probably the best to answer the question. I do know the large pipe is mandatory for the needlewheels, we tried it on the 9010, 9015 design and eventually the air completely displaced the water, it took in more air than the skimmer could handle.

We are supposed to get a half dozen of the 9440 before the end of November, the rest will follow soon after.
