Mate for C. interrupta

Thanks for the support everyone. I appreciate it.
This can be a frustrating field but I would choose the same path if I had to choose again.:headwally: :)

The lone surviving venusta larva is hanging in there and looks better this afternoon. Since she's trying so hard to make it, I'm going to help her. So the next larval run will start when she settles or dies trying. I may be able to get her into another larval tank and start a new run sooner and I'll see if I can work that through this weekend.

That would be very strange if one fish made it after so many didn't. If that happens, even though it's an angel and not a clown, I would call it Nemo.

Good luck with the lone survivor and the future batches

Congrats on everything Karen! After Genibabe and Dry Rot, if the venusta makes it let's call her Venuschick! :)

Well she's doing well so far. Seems to be responding to antibiotics and is hunting again. I moved her to a different tank so we can start another larval run if we get fertile eggs (I got infertile eggs last night).

We'll have to combine both Nemo and venuschick for a name. And I think she deserves a name now rather than when she settles since she's so tough. Any suggestions?

I read your last blog update - great to hear the lone survivor is still going. I hope this next run provides a high survival rate! We all have faith in this project.

Sad news"¦.I lost the lone survivor larva yesterday at day 34. Now I've got one more entry to add to my "how a larva can die list".

The next batch of P. venusta is at day 7 today but I don't see many and we started with so few. I'll start an addition batch as soon as there are more eggs.

Sorry to hear but what incredible stuff you are doing!!

I still need to update with some pics...just been so busy...

I have not updated the blog and hope to get to that tomorrow. I did start a new larval run since the stocking density was so low on the last one. After collecting eggs for a week I didn't get any better numbers so started again with 284 P. venusta larvae. Today is day three and they look good and are developing well. The best part about this run is that there are 20 eggs included from Ted's Flame Back Angels. :roll face: They have just started spawning this week and I know their egg production will pick up but I just couldn't resist including them in this run. We'll see how it goes.

You guys are great! I feel like I have my own cheerleading squad!

We're on day 8 with this batch and they are looking good.

Good news in that after 3 months, Faith and Fabio have spawned again!
It was a small spawn of 51 eggs and none are fertile but Faith is plump and frisky and we're coming into the new moon so things look good.
I'll update the blog tonight and hopefully get some spawning video since Faith was such a character last night she made spawning truly entertaining to watch and I think you'd get a kick out of it.
