Mate for C. interrupta

That's great!

I am moving in March and I hope everything will make the trip across down including my prized venustus :)

Karen, what are you keeping the C. interrupta tank at for temperature? Frank at RCT kept their wild caught spawning pair at lower temps from my understanding. If your tank is kept warmer maybe cooling it down will increase spawning size and fertility?

This last week we had cool North winds and the interrupta tank was at 22/23C so that probably did help. Last night Faith produced 900+ eggs but none were fertile. 900 eggs is plenty for me to work with so it's just the timing of their dance that they need to improve on now :). The small spawns over the last several days did have some fertile eggs so we are going in the right direction and I think we'll be there soon. I'm actually surprised we did get fertile eggs with the way these two fly around the tank during spawning. Those sperm are gonna have to be fast!

excellent!
are the jocs involved?

The jocs are not involved in this larval run but Jaws and Connie did get to move to a larger tank which they are sharing with a medium sized pair of Bandits. Both Bandits are females which are getting along and I hope will become a breeding pair. I was worried about little Connie moving in with the larger fish so I made a rubble pile that's just her size. She loves it and hangs out above it interacting with the bandits. Jaws likes to come blasting through on the chase and Connie will dive into the rubble pile and come swooping up out of it behind him. It's hilarious to watch their antics.

If you all want me to tell you what the blonde larvae possibilities could be, I'll fill you in. I don't know what she is for sure and thought it would be a fun surprise to see what she settles into.:crazy1: It's up to you.

I remember you had Centropyge acanthops in the tank !

Love it!
I am so glad that Jaws and Connie have settled in so well. Jaws always was a bit of a chaser, I'm not surprised he is still blasting around chasing everyone else in sight. How is he doing with the bandits? Has he figured out that they are going to be bigger than he is and that he should mind his manners yet?
