Mated pairs?

Hello all, I'm not really new to this forum just new to posting ;) heheh. Well I've had a pair of naked clowns for alil over a month now and I think they are going through their changes.

Do you all have any web resources on the clown mating stages or experiences? Last week one of the clowns started hosting in my BTA and ever since then its been chasing around the other clown fish. I assume this is normal?

[welcome]

when you say chasing can you describe better the behaivior and tell us what each clownfish does.

are they the same size?

Ok so for the disclaimers. This is a new and maturing tank. Cycled for close to 4 months and up and running for 2 months. Please pay no mind to the green algae :)

The aggressive clown probably knew I was filming and was behaving but soon after the second time it goes into the BTA you will see its true nature. So my question is, will it calm down once it knows that he/she is the dominant clown in the tank or should I seperate them and give up hope for mating?

here is the problem they are the same size. they both think they should be female and one obviously winning. given time this may calm down or get worse

is there any actuall ripped fins on the one getting beaten?

No ripped fins but...looks like some scales are missing. It definately looks like the more aggressive fish is trying to bite fins and or body. I don't think that the more submissive fish is in danger for its life at this time and would like to know more about what is going on.

Thanks again.

They do look to be very close in size, so the dominance fighting will be worse than if one is much smaller than the other. Hopefully they'll sort it out before too long and things will calm down, but keep an eye on them.
