Maxi Anemone and Ocellaris

Do Maxi Anemones kill clowns? I have now lost 2 clowns this month. The one clown had damage on the side of his body and then died soon after. Was healthy eating and swimming the day before and got along great with his mate. The female was getting along fine with a juvenile and the juvenile was eating and swimming and was found in the mouth of my maxi. Any chance they are killing my clowns? There are no other fish, crabs, etc. Just mushrooms, a large leather, Maxi anemones, and a few rock flowers. Thanks.

My guess would be maxi might be attacking clowns. Or the clowns are attacking each other. Imo I think the clowns would have to be weak to have the maxi get them tho

Yeah I thought that too, but the 1st one was full grown and super healthy. The two clowns never fought and he had no issues whatsoever. The Maxis are really sticky however. Maybe it could grab it in the right circumstances and hold on long enough to do some real damage?
